Facilitate.com software helps Austin area non-profits coordinate to better serve the homeless
SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) – 3/24/2004
-- Facilitate.com, provider of collaborative meeting
software for brainstorming and decision making, has
renewed its partnership with CTOSH (Collaboration Technologies
for Organizations Serving the Homeless) to research
how collaboration technology can help community service
providers be more effective in acquiring new federal
funding.
The CTOSH project helps a network of about 30 non-profit
organizations work cooperatively to maximize a dwindling
supply of financial resources. CTOSH is a cooperative
venture between academia and health and human services
agencies for the City of Austin and Travis County.
Facilitate.com 8.0 was used to survey the diverse
organizations providing homeless services to the community
over the internet and capture vital statistics regarding
current needs, inventory and resources for homeless
populations in the area. The result: a $4.2 million
award by the US Department of Housing and Development
to ameliorate gaps in transition housing, emergency
shelter and employment support programs. Commented
Dr. Craig Scott, CTOSH Co-Director, “We provided
computers with high speed Internet access to allow
these organizations to network with each other, but
Facilitate.com 8.0 gave them the tools to gather critical
information needed to secure major federal funding.
That’s real bottom line results, and Facilitate.com
helped make it possible.”
“We are always pleased that our clients get real value out of our
services," said Julia Young, Vice President at Facilitate.com. "But
seeing such tangible success for a community network is especially gratifying.
Whether in inter-organizational fund raising, labor negotiations or corporate
planning, our software helps ensure that all voices are heard, and that
consensus is reached on decisions that can be successfully implemented.”
